Babyworld Photo Competition

I’ve just finished judging the entries for the Babyworld Photo Competition. Babyworld is one of UK’s busiest websites for parenting. The quality of the entries were fantastic and I had a hard time picking up the winners. Instead of the 10 Runners Up prizes, I selected 16! All those entries deserved something and my heartiliest congratulations to the winners & the runners-up. Well done to everyone who entered.

Babyworld

“Photo competitions on Babyworld are always popular, but the Creative Photo Competition that we ran with SF Digital has been very successful.  We have had an outstanding number of entries and all of them were of very good picture quality.

Working with SF Digital has been a real pleasure, Uzair had the task of judging the entries, not an enviable task when you see the quality submitted and he couldn’t keep to his original and generous offer, a clear indication of how well this partnership has worked and I hope will continue to work with future competitions on Babyworld.”

Arctic Adventures & The Ice Hotel Wedding, Sweden

One of the most exciting & challenging shoot I’ve ever done was during my trip to the Lapland, Arctic (well about 250kms north) in Sweden. The trip came about when I was booked to photograph a wedding at the world famous Ice Hotel in Sweden. This was roughly the same time when the Nikon D3s was launched and was the perfect opportunity to test the camera for its high ISO capabilities in such low light and extreme conditions of as low as -30C.

If you are a photographer and would like to read this post with more technical stuff, then click here: SF Photo School

Ice Hotel, Sweden

The trip involved photographing the a pre-wedding shoot and the wedding, a dog sledding tour on a frozen river and through the wilderness around Jukkasjarvi and a 4-hour Northern Light tour on snow mobiles and staying in the ‘cold accommodation for 1-night at the Ice Hotel. Yes I did sleep in a cold room at The Ice Hotel at -5C and still here to tell the story. In fact, you get a diploma if you wake up alive in the morning!!!  A fairly packed schedule within a 4-day trip to say the least.

“Who else wants to
know how to get Designer Portraits at Outlet Prices!!!?”

From: Uzair Kharawala, 1900hrs

Dear Friend,

If you are interested in professional quality family portraits … then this is going to be the most exciting message you ever read.

Here’s why:

An incredible offer which you won’t find anywhere else “Portraits on CD“.  Imagine being able to use YOUR images in any shape or form. No restrictions on how you can use them. You get high-resolution files to use as much as you like. Make prints, create stunning slideshows for your digital frame or your computer, order personalised photo-gift items or even a wall-sized canvas starring you or your family. The choice is yours!! Wouldn’t that be great?

Or what about if you could get away from all the high pressure sales presentation, no need to go back to the studio for viewing your images during the rush hour or even take time off work. You get your images sent directly to you through the post after your photo session. How would that feel if you could do this?

Imagine being able to share your family images with your loved ones over Facebook, Flickr and other social networking websites. You have full permission to use the images as you like. There are NO restrictions. Email them over or make prints from any online or high street store. You get a certificate for using these images without breaking any copyright laws. It truly is possible, but you need to know how.

That’s what this brand new portrait offer could help you to do. And it’s not like any other boring photo session in a studio.

Get professional award-winning photography for a fraction of the price (which usually costs hundreds of £££ at a studio and many studios don’t offer this at all!)
The little-known way to the best way to capture your images is when you are having fun. No boring props in a studio and staged shots. Just natural looking images which you’ll treasure forever. Have a look around this website and you’ll see many families having fun and getting great, natural-looking portraits.

What’s an offer like this worth?
A very low-cost and easy way to affordable portraits for you and your family. Even in this economic climate. You CAN afford to get professional images of your loved ones. To have a photo session and images on a CD would normally cost you at least £500 or more.

Which is why “Portraits on CD” is such a bargain at only £75! No session fee, just one low low price for you.

That’s right, a fraction of what it’s really worth. Why would I make it so affordable? Simply because I’ve researched and found that families are fed up of paying high prices for portrait photography. Plus with my expertise & innovative and workflows, we can afford to offer you this amazing deal which other photography studios can’t even dream about! So either give us a call or ping an email and book your session now. Its not too late for VALENTINES!

Trip to The Ice Hotel

Today I arrived in Kiruna, Sweden for probably an adventure of a lifetime. This is the first time I’m here and the initial thoughts & reactions are amazing. This place is wonderful. The Ice Hotel is a very special place and is worth visiting. I’ve got a jam-packed next few days. Tomorrow Jenny from Nikon & Natalie from Digital Photographer Wedding arrive here and we’ll be pushing the Nikon D3s to its limits. Then we have a safari with the husky sledging and then a trip on the snow mobiles to catch a glimpse of the Northern Lights.

On Friday I shoot a wedding of Claire & James at The Ice Hotel. Saturday we travel back to London and then I’m off to Europe’s largest Convention for photographers in Hammersmith. I’ve got my Masterclass at 8.00am on Sunday so will try not to have a late one on Saturday! I say this every year and it never works!!!

On Monday I’m at the Apple Store, Regent Street, London from 7.00-8.00pm to talk about my adventures in the Arctic. On Tuesday I’m off to N.Yorkshire to do a presentation for the British Institute of Professional Photograhers. Then on late Wednesday, home sweet home at last.

Please do log back tomorrow and I’ll try and upload some images from here.

January 14, 2010 - 11:22 pm Chris Thio says: Hi Uzair, You are the best, you bring real life to photography. Not many people could do that. I have always wanted to visit the Ice Hotel, I would really make an effort some time in the future. Too bad I am going to miss your event at the Apple Store, I would happily go to London for the event, a city that I frequent few times each year. But I have some family matters to attend to in Singapore this time round. Best Wishes, Chris Thio

January 18, 2010 - 2:45 pm sfdigital says: Hi Chris Thanks for your message. I will be at the Apple Store later on in the year. So do keep an eye out over here. Best Oz
