This will be my 4th year at the Nikon stand and presenting my seminar. My presentation is titled ‘Arctic Adventures with the D3s”. I’ll be speaking about my experience in Lapland in extreme temperatures of as low as -29C with the Nikon D3s. You’ll also see some coverage from the wedding I shot at the world famous Ice Hotel, shooting the Northern Lights at extremely high ISO and much much more. I’ll be presenting all 4 days at the following times:
Sun 7th Mar – 1600-1645hrs
Mon 8th Mar – 1600-1645hrs
Tue 9th Mar – 1600-1645hrs
Wed 10th Mar – 1500-1545hrs
LASTOLITE
I will be at the Lastolite every morning demonstrating how to set up a simple yet very powerful & effective lighting system on-location using the Nikon Creative Lighting System. I’ll be using a brand new product which will debut at Focus by Lastolite. I’ve been testing it out and I tell you it is something which is going to be a part of my lighting kit.
I look forward to seeing you soon.

Trip to The Ice Hotel
Today I arrived in Kiruna, Sweden for probably an adventure of a lifetime. This is the first time I’m here and the initial thoughts & reactions are amazing. This place is wonderful. The Ice Hotel is a very special place and is worth visiting. I’ve got a jam-packed next few days. Tomorrow Jenny from Nikon & Natalie from Digital Photographer Wedding arrive here and we’ll be pushing the Nikon D3s to its limits. Then we have a safari with the husky sledging and then a trip on the snow mobiles to catch a glimpse of the Northern Lights.
On Friday I shoot a wedding of Claire & James at The Ice Hotel. Saturday we travel back to London and then I’m off to Europe’s largest Convention for photographers in Hammersmith. I’ve got my Masterclass at 8.00am on Sunday so will try not to have a late one on Saturday! I say this every year and it never works!!!
On Monday I’m at the Apple Store, Regent Street, London from 7.00-8.00pm to talk about my adventures in the Arctic. On Tuesday I’m off to N.Yorkshire to do a presentation for the British Institute of Professional Photograhers. Then on late Wednesday, home sweet home at last.
Please do log back tomorrow and I’ll try and upload some images from here.

January 14, 2010 - 11:22 pm Hi Uzair, You are the best, you bring real life to photography. Not many people could do that. I have always wanted to visit the Ice Hotel, I would really make an effort some time in the future. Too bad I am going to miss your event at the Apple Store, I would happily go to London for the event, a city that I frequent few times each year. But I have some family matters to attend to in Singapore this time round. Best Wishes, Chris Thio
January 18, 2010 - 2:45 pm Hi Chris Thanks for your message. I will be at the Apple Store later on in the year. So do keep an eye out over here. Best Oz

How to take great Portaits | eDVD
I’m super excited to announce the launch of my new DVD ‘How to take great Portraits’. The website went live today. So what is this DVD all about. Well, I always get this comment from a lot of people whenever I’m shooting that since I’ve got an expensive camera, I take good images. My answer is always that it is not the camera but the person behind it. So to prove this, I created this DVD which shows me taking pictures with a very inexpensive camera. A camera which is affordable and not very expensive.
This DVD is aimed at the hobbyist and the keen photographer (whether amateur or semi-pro) to learn simple techniques.
Also with the credit crunch, many people can’t afford to go to a studio or a professional photographer to get their family shots done. So if you have a camera and wish to take photos of your loved ones which your friends & family will be proud of, then have a look at this eDVD. You can download this straight to your computer within minutes (depending how fast your internet connection is).
Hope you enjoy the eDVD. Runtime is approximately 45 minutes. Please visit the website and have a closer look. The eDVD comes with 4 bonus tracks and a cool 10% Off Discount Code for all Nikon UK training courses.
