I think this is the perfect venue to make this video. I’m at YouTube Space in London and I hope you can hear me well. There’s a lot of background noise over here, but I think I’ll take this opportunity to make this video. It’s a very special day for me and occasion that I’m standing here in YouTube Space in London recording this video. The reason I’m being here is that I’ve just reached 10,000 subscribers and I just like to say a little story as to how I started YouTube, why I started it and how I reached here in a matter of 2 years. January 2018, I decided to make my YouTube channel and start creating content to put out my message, my expertise, knowhow, experience out in the open world. So basically I’m digitalizing myself into little videos so that people can see it anytime, anywhere they like.
I started with a challenge. I wanted to change the way we generate new leads and customers for our business and the challenge was to upload 90 videos, it was a 90-day challenge. In fact, upload one video a day for 90 days and see what happens. In the past, I had tried uploading videos but nothing happened, no views, no likes or dislikes, it was crickets. Pretty much nothing was happening. So this time I wanted to make sure that I do it properly, but I didn’t know how to do it and what to do it. I just followed my gut instinct. But what I did want to know, find out and know that what will happen if I post content, creatively and consistently over the period of time. So I made myself do this challenge and told myself, even though I may not get a single like, share, comment, dislike, I’m going to carry on doing it and not quit after four or five videos as most people do.
Within a matter of days. I started getting, a lot of interactions on my video, people thanking me for putting up my content and liking my content, sharing it. And that’s when I knew that I’m on the right path. Even though I didn’t know much about YouTube and how I will be perceived and accepted on my channel. People started following me and my goal was to, one of the goals I wanted to do was to reach 10,000 subscribers. Now this event where I’m in YouTube Space right now, you only get invited if you have more than 10,000 subscribers. So this event is hosted by Adobe. It’s a Creative Jam and some of the influencers and creators on YouTube are giving their top tips as to how to create content. And obviously Adobe are here to showcase their products and some of the cool stuff that you can do with their products.
So it’s good to dream. And I started with a dream to reach 10,000 subscribers and with a bit of hard work, it is possible and achievable. So here I am, I’ve achieved my first target of 10,000, and now we are not stopping obviously. I am reaching out in 2020 to more people, create more content, so hopefully, I’m going to get more engagement and subscribers and it’s not only a matter of the number, it’s about helping other people out. And when somebody emails me or puts up a message that my videos really helped them solve their problem, that is the satisfaction which I got most out of it. So if you haven’t started video marketing, please do. Just get started. It doesn’t matter. You will get things very wrong initially, you perfect as you go along. If you are a perfectionist, then you have a big problem because you don’t want to do that.
If you want to launch that perfect video, you will never start. Just like this video, I’m hand holding it, it’s a little bit shaky, but it’s fine. I’m putting my message out there and I want to make sure that you know what I preach is what I do. If I just don’t do talk the talk, I also want to walk the walk as well. All you need is a smartphone, a little microphone, which I’ve got over here just to make the sound and the audio look sound a bit better, and a couple of lights and you can get started. So I would like to thank everyone who has subscribed, liked, commented, shared and disliked because those people who don’t like my content gives me really good feedback as to why they don’t like and what I’m doing wrong, and what I need to do to make my content look and sound better. So I really do appreciate your support and I look forward to continuing my videos on YouTube and hopefully see you on my channel soon. That’s it for now. And, I look forward to seeing you again. Bye.
