How To Become A Google Premier Partner Agency

How To Become A Google Premier Partner Agency
Read the video transcript

Now the other bit, one is the Premier Partner. So what's the difference between, between the two? In my other video, I did go through it in detail as to what the difference is between these two. One is the partner and one is the Premier Partner. And on their website, you can see the difference as to what a member is.

When you sign up for the Google Partner programme, you become a member. When you certify for the partner, you become a partner. And then you also get invited to become a Premier Partner. You cannot apply for it. Google Ads will, you'll get an email out of the blue that here's congratulations, you become a Premier Partner. So they look at lots of metrics, KPI's, performance, etcetera, and then they will reward you with the partner badge.

You get the recognition and the rewards. And here's where the difference, the main difference is between the partner and the premier, where you get executive experiences to attend Google events at Google or YouTube, and also dedicated account support. So you got that. You get the premium level of Google support if you are a Premier Partner. So how to become a Premier Partner?

Now, nobody knows the exact criteria, but here's how they've explained. The companies need to meet the partner requirements first and then be in the top 3% of the participating companies within a country. So if other agencies, let's say we got 100 premier partners in the UK and they get another 10, 15, and if my agency's performance is lagging behind, then I won't be in that top 3%.

So this keeps all the agencies and marketers on their toes to be in that top percent to keep performing to the best, to grow their client base and client retention. So the factors that determine the top 3% performers are existing client growth. So they look at this. How are you growing your client's accounts? New client growth, new accounts coming and then you growing that account?

Client retention, really important. How long each client is retained by you? Or are you one of those agencies where you get an account and after one month or two months they go away? That means you're not doing what you should be doing. Product diversification. This is really important. If you really want to become a Premier Partner, you really need to move away from the search network only a majority of the accounts, when they come to us all they are running search ads and probably this has been running by other agencies.

You got to do a bit more so that you are on search, YouTube, display, video, I mean display and YouTube video ads, obviously shopping as well. And as I showed you on the previous page, where is it going? We have all these four certified experts in our agency. So that's one of the criteria to become a Premier Partner and not all of them.

And then they also look at the annual ad spend. So unlike the Google partner where they're looking at $10,000 USD every 90 days, over here they're looking at the annual ad spend as to how much we are spending on behalf of our client. And if we weren't performing, the clients would not be investing and spending in Google Ads.

So what Google wants to do is to have a situation where it's a win, win, win situation. Win for the client. First of all, because that's how Google makes the money. If everyone start stops to use Google Ads then obviously they are not going to make any money. So first thing is to make sure that you make money for your client.

Google is going to be happy about it. And then if you keep on doing it, keep growing your client accounts and getting new clients, whether it's an existing one or a new one, and then grow them as well, then you will be on your way to becoming a Premier Partner. It is a fair amount of hard work.

You will find it sometimes it's a bit frustrating that why aren't you achieving the premier status and other agencies have? Even though you may have good accounts, you're growing the accounts, you're spending more, but you will never find out from anywhere anyone in Google, at least I haven't as to what is the exact criteria, but Google spells it out in black and white over here as to what you should be doing to achieve this status.

And once you achieve this status then you in the premier league of agencies and you get invited to all these events and expert support and lots of other good things. So hope this helped you. And if you haven't become a partner or a Premier Partner then by all means, you know, keep working away giving the results your clients want and Google will see it.

They always see it and hopefully one day you will achieve the status. So hope you enjoyed this video. If you did then please give it a little thumbs up like share and comment as to how was your experience, whether you have become a Google partner or a Premier Partner or are you struggling to become one. So I appreciate your time with me and I look forward to seeing you in the next one.
