How Much Budget Do You Need For Google Ads?

How much budget do I need for Google Ads? And this is I think one of the most common questions which is asked by many or how much budget do I need? And my reply to this question is, first of all, if you are new to Google Ads, you've not run any campaigns before use or set up a budget which you are comfortable losing.

Now, I'm not saying waste your money, throw away the budget, give all your cash to Google, nothing like that. If you don't have any data in your account, we need to test first. Testing can take anything from 60 to 90 days. Whilst we are optimizing the campaigns as well obviously and what I mean by testing is also that I don't mean that we won't get any results for 90 days or 60 days, not at all.

You may start getting leads or sales within a matter of hours or days as soon as the campaign starts to run but it may be at an expensive price because we haven't put in negative keywords, we haven't tested the ads and the landing pages and so on. So first of all you need to test and this is where the budget comes in.

We don't know. So I would always say try to if it's a big company spending tens of thousands of dollars then they will allocate a certain budget. That's not a problem but for small to medium-sized businesses I would say try to aim for 30 clicks per day. Because you don't want two or three clicks per day otherwise nothing is going to happen.

You're going to get frustrated or nothing is happening after two weeks or three weeks. Get a handful of clicks or visitors to your website per day to see what is happening or not happening. Now that click could be $1 or it could be $100. That's how you will work out. So for me to give you an in number it just won't make any sense.

Because if I tell you. You need to budget $50 a day and your click cost is 100 bucks a day. You'll never get a click so always go by the click and then multiply it by your average CPC now again if you haven't got any data in your account then you go by the keyword planner and see what the estimated top of the page average CPC is and then you start to run the campaigns and that's how I would budget but always start with the budget which you are comfortable running.

As a marketer, the first thing that would come to your mind is how much you require to run a successful Google Ads campaign. Many people are unsure about budgeting and find it challenging to make the right judgment.

As a result, they don’t set a proper budget for the Google Ads campaign and lose a lot of money. Therefore, I will give you an idea of how you can set an accurate budget for your Google Ads.

How Much Should You Set Aside For Google Ads?

People who are new to Google Ads and just starting to learn about might be confused regarding the budget they should set. If you have no experience running a Google Ads campaign, the ideal thing to do is use the amount you are comfortable losing. Things can go south, especially if you are using Google Ads for the first time.

Therefore, you need to be sure about the amount of money you can afford to lose. You don’t need to empty up your entire bank account in the first go. You should have a comprehensive strategy in mind before working with Google Ads.

How Long Is The Testing Period?

The testing process can take anywhere from 2 to 3 months. It does not imply that you won’t see any results in that timeframe when optimising the campaigns. You might get leads or sales in a short time as soon as the campaign starts running.

However, the price of running the campaign will increase as soon as you add negative keywords, start testing the ads, and so on.

What Does The Testing Process Entail?

The testing process entails using the budget to get optimal results through your Google Ads campaign. Big corporations have the leverage to spend tens of thousands in the testing phase and then decide on the budget. However, that is something not possible for small or medium-sized enterprises.

Ergo, the ideal approach is to target smaller goals, let’s say 30 clicks per day. It shouldn’t be as low as 2 to 3 dollars since you won’t see a massive impact. It will only cause frustration since you will see nothing is happening even after 14 to 21 days.

Try getting a sizeable amount of clicks to your website to get a better idea of what is working for you and what is not. That click can cost you $1 or $100, so it makes no sense to quote an exact figure to you.

If you were told that the budget should be $50 a day and the click is costing you $100, then it will be of no use. Therefore, you should go by the click and multiple with your median CPC (Cost-Per-Click). If you don’t have any data to work with, you can go to the keyword planner.

It will give you the page average CPC to start running your campaigns. Various top marketers use this strategy, and this is how I do it myself. However, it is optimal to start with a budget that you can afford to lose and are comfortable running.
